The best ever homemade chunky guacamole recipe with spicy serrano peppers, cilantro and lime. The perfect classic appetizer!

Let’s start from the beginning. Guacamole or as known in North America “guac” is a fresh, raw avocado based salsa, salad or dip made in a “molcajete”. A condiment developed by the Aztecs in the region that is now Mexico.

Holy Guacamole You Guys!

The BatMan says that I make the best guacamole ever of all times, and so for that reason I wanted to share my version with you. Being that he comes from a Latin family where you can safely assume everyone had their “guac” game on point, I say it’s safe to trust he is on to something 😉

So today I’m going to show you “ como hacer guacamole “ the classic homemade “receta” without tomatoes.

You are gonna want to use it in tacos, on toast, this tempeh sandwich and of course with your favorite bag of tortilla chips. Why not dip some fresh bell peppers and cucumbers in it too..?!

Let’s Talk Guacamole Seasonings:

Keep it simple: Sea Salt. Lime. Spicy Serranos. Cilantro.

Absolutely no peas, no mayo and no pumpkin you guys. Ever! Just fully ripe avocados, the kind that slightly yield in the palm of your hand with a gentle squeeze.

To keep your guacamole rustic and chunky simply slice the avocados in half, discard the pit and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Immediately squeeze some lime or lemon over the top, add seasonings and toss to coat. As you toss and taste and adjust the lime to sea salt balance, the avocados will break down but maintain their beautiful chunky texture.

No Avocado Mashing Allowed!

How To Keep Your Chunky Guacamole From Turning Brown:

Assuming that you’ll have any leftovers, you want to store them in an airtight glass container layered with thin slices of lime or lemon across the top. The idea is to not have any exposed areas to prevent oxidation and therefor browning. Also add a couple of the seeds back into the bowl. Cover with an airtight lid to help it stay as green as possible and refrigerate up to three days.
