A whole-food, plant-based diet is a vegan diet based on veggies, fruits, legumes, whole grains and tubers. It excludes all refined foods (like white flours, pastas and sugars) and animal products (including, cheese, eggs and fish). It also excludes or minimizes the use of oil. Some of the recipes in this category may contain a tiny amount of oil, however they are easily adaptable to be oil-free by simply eliminating it or replacing it with a splash of water.
A WFPB diet (whole foods plant-based diet) contains all the essential nutrients our bodies need, with the exception of vitamin B12 which can be taken in a simple delicious sublingual spray.
Vitamin B12 is made from bacteria, neither plants nor animals naturally synthesize it. Since we wash all the food we eat, we also wash off the dirt that contains B12 producing bacteria from all our fruits, veggies, legumes, tubers and leafy greens. For that reason supplementing it is highly recommended.
